Pvt. John Phelan, USA, Memorial Flag Presentation, Warrenville, IL  26 MAY 08

 

 

 

The Warrenville VFW will hold their Memorial Day Honor Ceremony at the gravesite of Pvt. John Phelan, USA on 26 May 2008.  Pvt. Phelan was a Vietnam-era veteran who was killed in a traffic accident in the mid-1980s and whose brother Rick is a PGR Road Captain.  The family has invited the PGR to participate in the honor ceremony, with full approval of the VFW. 

 

***** MISSION DETAIL *****

 

Staging Location:

The parking lot near the Warrenville War Memorial

Warren Ave. & Manning

(just southwest of the intersection of IL-56 and Batavia

 

Staging Time:

1030 (10:30 AM)

 

Mission[/b] Brief:

1045 (10:45 AM)

 

Initial ceremony:

Including the reading of names:

1100 (11:00 AM)

 

After the initial ceremony we will ride to the cemetery, less than a mile away, located at Warrenville and Curtis Roads, to form a flag line.  Other participants will walk, giving us ample time to get set up.  The entire ceremony will likely last an hour.

Thank you to John Phelan for your service to our country. Thank you to Rick Phelan for your continued service via the PGR. And thank you to John's daughters for participating in this honor ceremony for your dad. It will be our honor to surround you with a circle of comfort on this day.

My sincere condolences and prayers to family and friends of Pvt. John Phelan, U.S. Army / Viet Nam Era Veteran. Pvt. Phelan, I am forever grateful for your service to our country. Your service and sacrifices will not be forgotten. You are a "TRUE AMERICAN HERO". May you Forever Rest in Peace.
