Honor Mission - William R. Fifer - veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Monday, May 12 2008
William R. Fifer was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. The past two years he has lived at the Minnesota Veterans Home due to the effects of a stroke three years ago. It would be an honor to him if the Patriot Guard would be able to have a flag line at his Memorial Service which is scheduled for:
Monday, May 12, 2008 2:00 p.m. Visitation 3:00 p.m. Service
Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel 7110 France Avenue South Edina, MN
We will honor this Hero of 2 wars with a Flag Line at Cremation Society Chapel.
Details for staging and times will be posted as soon as possible.
Ride Captain in Charge will be Mike McDonough

My sincere condolences and prayers to family and friends of William R. Fifer, WWII / Korean War Veteran. Mr. Fifer, I am forever grateful for your service to our country. Your service and sacrifices will not be forgotten. You are a "TRUE AMERICAN HERO". May you Forever Rest in Peace.

Final Itinerary
Fifer, Dr. William R., 84 of Minnetonka, April 30, 2008. Survived by wife, Anne, Son William (Liz), daughters Angela (Steven), Alison, Penman, Judith; 9 grandchildren, beloved dog Jack; former wife, Ellen Green; many friends and extended family of the Minnesota Veterans Home. He served in the US Army for three years in WWII, and was recalled into service during the Korean War, serving for 12 months in Korea as a Battalion Surgeon. The past two years he has lived at the Minnesota Veterans Home due to the effects of a stroke three years ago.
William Fifer was a respected Doctor, Educator, and Administrator In the metro area since leaving the military after Korea. Dr. Fifer held Distinguished positions at the University of Minnesota, and Methodist Hospital As well as St. Louis Park Medical Center.
To honor this American Heros service during 2 wars we will stand in honor At his visitation and service:
Staging will be at 12:30 at the “ Room and Board” Parking Lot 7010 France Ave Edina MN 55435
From there it is a VERY Short walk to the Visitation and Service At Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel 7110 France Avenue South Edina, MN
Timeline is
Staging opens at 12:30 Set the flag line at 12:50 Visitation 2:00 p.m. Service 3:00 PM Dismissed 4:30 PM (Estimated)
RCIC Mike McDonough will be a the Staging Area early So watch for his bike and flag

Thank you for attending Will's service and honoring him with the Flag line. It touches my heart that you remember his service to our country. Thank you for the prayers for his family. Your honor and dedication to the men and women who served this country is amazing.
