USE OF THE CONFIRMED MISSIONS FORUM

 Missions posted in this forum

Funeral for a KIA from a current conflict
Funeral for a veteran
Funeral for a PGR member
Funeral for a first responder
Memorial service for all of the above if the family requests that the actual interment is private but requests PGR attendance at part of the services
Some missions can be considered on a case by case basis

Itinerary Posting

State and Ride Captains must send updates to mods@patriotguard.org for posting.  All itinerary information is added to the initial post of the thread in order to separate it from the condolences within the thread.  A bump post is then added to the thread by the moderator which will send an auto-generated email to the subscribers that itinerary information has been updated.  Any dates will be added to the Subject line along with the appropriate update indicator such as Itinerary Update or Final Itinerary.

Arlington National Cemetery Integration

Timing and communication are critical to the successful inclusion of ANC ceremonies and services.  As soon as potential ANC involvement surfaces, the "local" RC / SC should send an email to anc@patriotguard.org indicating the ANC potential, and giving a link to the thread for the hero in question. This will allow the ANC team to initiate planning and be in the best position to act should the family wish. It is preferred that the "local" SC / RC remain the focal point for contacting the family and ascertaining interest in having PGR participate in any ANC ceremonies, as they are likely to be physically and emotionally closer to the family. As soon as it is available, send the CAO name and numbers to the ANC Team. Early contact by the  team is needed to assure smooth planning and integration. Click on these links for more information:

Reply Posting

Feel free to post your condolences and intentions to attend in the thread.  Please do not post questions regarding staging, itinerary or other aspects of the mission within the thread.   Your Captains are very busy behind the scenes with the organization of the mission and will post the information as soon as it is available. If you do have questions, please use the Private Message function or emails to communicate to your State or Ride Captains.

Physical and mailing addresses or phone numbers of heroes, their families, and PGR members should not be posted in our forums in order to protect their privacy and for security purposes.  Names of minor children will not be posted in our mission forums if you are listing survivors.

Full articles can not be posted in our forums due to copyright infringement.  Links to online articles are permitted.  News articles regarding missions should be sent to the State Captain or Ride Captain in charge of the mission first before posting in a thread.  The article may contain information not suitable for posting in the mission thread.

Missions are only scheduled and posted upon approval of the State Captain.  We do not post missions using a news article unless the State Captain has already made contact with the CAO or at the families’ request.  Members may not post missions.  Moderators post the missions after receiving the information from the State captain or his/her designee.  If you become aware of a potential mission please see the directory on the home page for the email address to send the mission request or contact your State Captain directly.

Addresses of churches, funeral homes or cemeteries or discrepancies in times or location which may be published in local news papers and may be contrary to official mission information should not to be posted in mission threads by members.  If you notice a discrepancy please contact your State Captain or the Ride Captain for that mission with your information.  Please remember that our captains are in close constant contact with the Casualty Assistance Officers and family representatives and will probably have the most accurate information.  Many times circumstances warrant a schedule or location change of which the press is not aware.

Ride Reports

Once a mission is complete it will be moved to Recently Completed where it will reside for 3 full days before being moved to the Archives.  The thread will remain unlocked for posting.  RC’s should post the ride report themselves and members may also post their after-mission thoughts.  Please remember that the families read and print out these threads so keep your posts positive and respectful.   Critique of the mission operation should be sent to the Captains via Private Message or email.

Mission Photos

In keeping with our mission statement of respect we do not post pictures of the family and caskets from our missions.  We have no desire to control websites outside of our own, however, out of respect to the family we ask that you refrain from posting pictures of this type on your photo sharing albums.  Any links to albums in our forums containing these types of photos will be removed in order to protect the families. Posting of mission pictures in our Photo Gallery is done by an assigned team so that they may be reviewed before posting.  Send in mission pictures “zipped” and at a manageable file size, i.e. probably no larger than 4mb per email just to be safe.  Send your picture files clearly labeled as to which mission to photos@patriotguard.org.

For further information about posting in our forums please see the Forum Guidelines.

Thank you for your cooperation
