It is with heavy heart that we bear the news of the passing of another member of the Greatest Generation. WWII Veteran Casimir John Pikora passed Saturday, 28 July 2007 in Leesburg, FL. He served as a 1st Sergeant in the Army Air Corps as an Aircraft Mechanic. He was stationed in England and was the recipient of several campaign medals along with a good conduct medal. His family has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in his honor at funeral services for him in Leesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30am on Wednesday, 01 August 2007 at:

St. Paul's Catholic Church
1330 Sunshine Ave
Leesburg, Fl

We will stage at the church.

Final Itinerary:
7:00am - Staging Begins
7:30am - Mission Brief
7:45am - Set Flag Line

There will be an escorted procession to:

Florida National Cemetery
6502 SW 102nd Avenue
Bushnell, FL 33513

where grave side services will take place and Military Honors will be rendered.

The heartfelt appreciation of a truly grateful American citizen goes out to Casimir John Pikora, who answered his country's call and was there when it needed him.

I send my prayers and deepest condolences to the family and friends. I hope that the fact that he is an American hero and is honored by many around the world brings you some comfort in this time of loss.

Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. These heroic young men and women answered their nations call to arms during one of her darkest times. May Mr Pikora's dedicated service and sacrafices in the defense of our nations freedom never be forgotten. Lord, please comfort and grant your peace that surpasses all human understanding to the family and friends of 1st. Sgt. Casimir John Pikora. Amen. This brave man answered the call of his country when the world needed him most to defend liberty and freedom. Pikora family, hold your heads high; you follow in the footsteps of a true red, white, and blue American hero. Take heart in that there are many Americans, many who have never met him, honoring 1st.
