After all these years your back home Air Force Maj. Ben Danielson “Boxxer 22” – Vietnam MIA / KIA. You were never forgotten by your loved ones or a grateful nation. Welcome home.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Ben.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Welcome home, Major Danielson.

I hope that your return brings closure and peace to your family and friends.

"High Flight"

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

I am a 34 year old police officer in Northern Minnesota.  My uncle is a Vietnam vet and advocate of the POW/MIA action.  When I was in my early teens I went with my Uncle to his POW/MIA booth at the County Fair.  I purchased a POW/MIA bracelet.  I remember specifically buying one that was a POW/MIA from Minnesota.  That bracelet just so happened to be Captain Danielson's.

I have been wearing this bracelet for many years now.  It has sustained a few scratches and paint wear but still shows Captain Danielson's information and a visual display/reminder that all POW/MIA's are not forgotten.  I tried a few years back to search for information on Captain Danielson's status and also locate any family members but I was unsuccessful.

I do not own a motorcycle anymore and am new to your page. (I was turned onto your page at our State Fraternal Order of Police Convention where a fellow officer/member mentioned it).  I do not know how many of these bracelets are around but I would be honored and privileged to finally give this back to the Danielson's and to let them know their family member has been in my thoughts for many years and I'm grateful for his service and the ultimate sacrifice he gave to keep me and other safe and free.

My condolences go to the Danielson's and much appreciation and respect to the Patriot Guard for their noble and admirable service.

Respectfully,

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
