"T" was a woman that lived for the PGR even though she had never served in the military or even owned her own bike. Some of her happiest times was on the back of a motorcycle riding down the highway. Just recently I decided to surprise her and purchased her a helmet of her own after she carried on like an overjoyed little girl about one of our members loaning her a helmet to ride on a mission. All she could do was talk about wanting to buy a helmet so she'd always be ready for the next mission.
I have spoke with her sister and requested that Terresa be buried with her helmet. It was in her car when she had the accident and her sister was the one to handle the call and when she open the car door the helmet fell to the ground. Terresa was a free spirit the loved life and she laughter will be missed by many.
Rest easy "T" we have the watch now. Ed

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Mississippi has lost a treasure. Teresa was one fine lady. In the worlds of internet, bikers, and military we often know a person by different names. Some of our 'chosen' names bring curiosity to the uninformed. I knew her as Teresa Garner (I didn't know the Gaddy surname), but if anyone was uncertain of who she was all it took was a "you know, nursegr8body" to clear things up. She had a gr8 heart. A couple weeks ago one of our members, Joe, was recovering from a bike accident and needed a hospital bed at home. I called Teresa since she was a nurse, to see if she could help locate one. She immediately dropped what she was doing, made the hour drive to his home, and did some nursing. She didn't know who Joe was until she walked in and saw that he was the guy who'd loaned her a helmet so she could ride on our last mission. Kathy, Joe's wife, said Teresa was the only southerner she'd ever met who could talk faster than a Yankee. Teresa loved people, and I never met anyone who knew her who didn't love her right back. Teresa, I'll sure miss you.

My regrets and sympathy to all the family and friends of Terresa Gaddy. From all the posts that I have read, she must have been quite a gal, and this is indeed a sad morning for all. In recent years, I have had two experiences where the presence of 'Angels in Scrubs' were a great comfort....it is obvious that Terresa was such an angel, and I'm sure that she will be forever more an angel to all who knew her.

Psalm 139: 9-10 "If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there thy hand shall lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."

FINAL REPORT

Today a few PGR said goodbye to one of our own. Most of us had known Teresa for a year or less, but it only took one meeting to know she had a special heart. We staged briefly, read her obituary, shared some memories, prayed, put our pegs down, and rode to the funeral home. We decided to forego the flag line this time. Teresa was one of us. This time it was about us. Collectively, we followed Dana into the reception room and assembled at Teresa's side as Dana placed a small flag from the Private Barry Mayo mission (Teresa's last) in Teresa's hand. We chose to mingle with the family and friends--share some special memories of a special lady--and it was easy to tell how special she was. The chapel overflowed, literally. Not enough seats in the house.

Since we had five bikes, we formed up in front of the hearse, two by two. What's that, you say? Questioning my math? Me alongside Gary and Teresa Smith up front, Don beside Charles in the rear, and Dana in the middle with Teresa riding in the empty slot beside her. At the cemetery, Joe and Kathy joined us as we formed a double flag line for Teresa to pass through. After the pastor read the 23rd Psalm, I said a few words. I wanted all there to know the mission Teresa took on when she joined Patriot Guard. I then presented a folded mission flag with a Mission Accomplished pin attached to her daughter Elizabeth. I'd retired the flag a few missions ago because it had become frayed. It, like Teresa, had accomplished its mission.

We joined the family in the church for a wonderful meal and fellowship. Although people were sad, there was no grief. All who knew Teresa were confident that she'd simply gone on before us to meet her Savior. This experience reinforces the fact that life here on earth is temporary and uncertain. Do you truly know that spiritually, you're ready for eternity, or is that something you're still considering?

Respectfully,

Goodbye and Godspeed, "T". I only met you once but once was enough to know you as a lifelong friend. You'll be missed on our missions as well as by so many more. But Gary is right. Keep that new helmet close. Our Fallen Heroes coming home will need that ride with you when they cross over. And what a friend they'll have!
