Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCE TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MSGT. THEODORE ROSEVELT ANDERSON A FINE, BRAVE AMERICAN SOLDIER.

THOUGHT YOUR HEART IS FILLED WITH SADNESS. NEVER FORGET THAT HIS WAS FILLED WITH YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

THE BODY, HEART AND MIND MAY DIE.

BUT:  MEMORIES NEVER DIE.

A SOLDIERS LIFE

A SOLDIERS LIFE IS LONELY, AND VERY FEW WILL CARE,
SOME WILL EVEN HURT HIM, WHILE OTHERS STAND AND STARE,

A SOLDIERS LIFE IS VERY ROUGH, HE WORKS ON THROUGH THE NIGHT,
AND WHEN OUR COUNTRY IS THREATENED, HE IS THE ONE WHO WILL FIGHT.

A SOLDIERS LIFE IS FILLED WITH PRIDE, AND SO HE’LL GO TO WAR,
HE MAY NOT EVEN KNOW THE PLACE, OR EVEN THE REASON FOR,

A SOLDIERS LIFE IS FILLED WITH HEROES, AND I HAVE MET A FEW,
HERE TODAY I HAVE MET ANOTHER, THEODORE WAS A SOLDIER TOO.

Jim, it will be a privilege to stand watch for your father's funeral. The older I get, the more I appreciate what members of our fathers' generation did for us.

Here is my ride report for the mission to Honor First Sergeant Theodore Rosevelt Anderson:

We staged at Luverne Kawaski. Thank you again to Rick and Lori Reed for giving us a warm and friendly place to meet and prepare to Honor Theodore Anderson. I was very pleased to have a total of 9 outstanding PGR members make this mission in spite of the short notice in arctic temps with windchills way below zero!

We had our pre-mission briefing and then paused for a prayer asking for comfort and support for this family and their loved ones. We then proceeded to the church and sat up our flag line at the entrance for visitation and then the funeral. During the funeral we were able to go inside and warm up with some coffee. Thank you to the Luverne United Methodist Church for your hospitality! After warming up for a bit we took our positions once again as Theodore's American Flag draped casket was brought out and placed into the waiting hearse. We stood guard as the funeral procession departed for the cemetery and then we stood down.

Thank you once again to all of you who were able to make it. We had members from as far away as Windom, St. James, Marshall and Sioux Falls and places in between. It was my honor to stand with all of you today and it was good to make some new friends.

Thank you to everyone who posted words of gratitude, honor and respect to Theodore and his family - you were very much with us in spirit!

Thank you Theodore Roosevelt Anderson for your service to all of us.
