Matthew has been in my family's prayers since we read about him in the local paper. It was with great sadness that I read of his passing. With the knowledge that Matthew is in a better place without pain, I am standing by in Lexington Park. I am thankful that his parents were able to be there to say good-bye and pray for their continued strength during this time.

Thank you, Cpl. Matthew P. Wallace, for your willingness to defend our nation and giving all you could give, in the ultimate sacrifice. We love, honor and respect you and will not allow you to have died in vain. May God richly comfort your dear family in the loss of such a fine young man. Once again, our faith is increased as of the older generation, seeing so many of you fine, young patriots willing to fight for a country where many of it's citizens do not have the wisdom to realize that fighting the enemy over there can help prevent us having to fight that enemy over here. I served proudly from 1963-67 in the USAF for my country because I love her, even with her failures. She's still the greatest nation on earth. Matthew, you have fought a good fight and now you are in the hands of a loving God. Lord God, heal this broken hearted family and help us to always honor with the utmost respect those who are willing to fight the good fight, for without these brave men and women, our grand children will not grow up in a free nation like we did. Praying for you all, Jim Sandefur III USAF 1963-67
