We owe you a dept that can never be repaid except to let you know you and those of your generation will never be forgotten. Bill, you are not just a "HERO" of the "Greatest Generation" you served with a unit that is still taught to school children around the world in the hope that another generation may learn to do the right things in life. I know you were proud of your service to this country, but certainly not as proud as your family is of you. I know that pride was instilled in Hollie as is evident in her service, pride, love, and commitment that she shows to the veterans and thier loved ones every time we need to be thier for them. I'm sure these traits were through lifes lessons learned from you.
I know you are in a better place now and no longer suffer for that I am thankfull. I am also thankfull that the Great Father is holding your loved ones in a blanket of love as they grieve for he will not put them in a situation where he cannot protect them. I know thier faith will see them through this difficult time. It is also time that will heal thier broken hearts. Your memory will live on and you will never be forgotten dear "HERO."
It will be my honor and privledge to stand the flag line for you and escort you on your final mission.

Hollie I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. My condolences to the family and friends of Bill Griffin. My prayer is that God will comfort you during the difficult days ahead. I thank you for his dedicated service to our country during the trying times of WWII. I have so much respect for Merrill's Marauders. They were the fore runners of the Long Range Recon Patrol, and we learned much from their experience. I am forever indebted to them for their sacrifices. May your father rest in peace.
