(President Harry S. Truman)

During these days of many trials and tribulations that our land of the free are facing, let us remember to hold our heads up high in remembrance for those who gave their life for our freedom and those that are still in harms way for this cause. Pray for the brokenhearted and proclaim victory for those who are held captive. Lord, You are the light of the world and we declare You to be Lord over every nation. We know your light shines in darkness and the darkness does not always comprehend, but we also know You light will always prevail. Amen.

Thank you for my freedom Mr Martin. May you rest in peace.

“Some people’s lives can truly make a difference however long or short their lives on earth. They give the gifts of kindness and of caring. They sow the seeds of friendship and self-worth. Some people’s lives are beautiful examples of putting others first, and when they are gone, the lives of those they touched are so much richer, and the love they shared lives on and on.”

Lloyd James Martin II - July 03,2009

We staged under clear skies at 0800 at Willamette National Cemetary.  Lloyd was a brother-in-law of our PGR member, Bill Barnes.  Nineteen bikes and four cages attended totaling 26 PGR.  Bryan led a missing man formation for Lloyd and his family and friends to the shelter for the service.  Q, as usual, was taking pictures for the family.  The Navy honor guard presented the flag to his next of kin and six of us had the honor of carrying Lloyd from the van to the shelter and then returning him to the van after the serivce.  Several family members expressed sincere thank-yous to our group.  They were deeply touched by the honor and respect we showed for our departed brother.   One new member attended and as usual we stood a smart flag line and responded promptly to some unexpected requests.  Thanks to our long riders from the Dalles and to everyone who attended.  It is an honor to R/C such a great organization.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
