Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Scott.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

I hold great respect for the service and sacrifice that U.S. Army Sergeant Scott B. Stream offered up to our country in the course of his lifetime. It is with heartfelt regret that I now must tender my sympathy to those who loved this young man in this world. All who have ever stood in the ranks understand that the basis of the Army motto "Duty, Honor, Country" is the most powerful human emotion of all: Love for Family. It is my prayer to Our Heavenly Father that those whose hearts are now filled with anguish will be comforted. May they be surrounded by acts of loving kindness; and may they find peace and solace to continue through all the days to come.

The families and communities of Illinois seem to have given more than their share this month.  Our sincere thanks and condolences go out to the family of SGT Stream.  Words can never express our true feelings, so let our actions in standing for this man and his family speak for us, as his actions spoke for America.

Standing by in Peoria...

THE YOUNG DEAD SOLDIERS DO NOT SPEAK
Nevertheless they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them?
They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts.
They say, We were young. We have died. Remember us.
They say, We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done.
They say, We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave.
They say, Our deaths are not ours: they are yours: they will mean what you make them.
They say, Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this.
They say, We leave you our deaths: give them their meaning: given them an end to the war and a true peace: give them a victory that ends the war and a peace afterwards: give them their meaning.
We were young, they say. We have died. Remember us.

I knew him from a political discussion forum where he and I were particularly at loggerheads to the point of occasional contemptuous ridicule. He was a man of strong emotions and devotions. Would appreciate it if anyone knew if anything like a PayPal account has been set up for his family.

I wanted his family to know that it was obvious that he loved them very much.

I also knew him from a political discussion forum. It should be known that Sgt. Stream fought for what he believed in both word and deed. He walked the talk.

Thank you Sgt. Stream for your service. You were undeniably courageous and devoted to your country.

To the family of Sgt. Stream: My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. You can be so proud of Scott's service and bravery. I hope knowing he fought and died for what he believed in is some small comfort.
