The family of Spc.(E- 5) Michael Galoozis has requested the IPGR to escort this Vietnam hero from SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, to his final resting place at Calumet Park Cemetery on Jan. 9th, 2009

We will stage at 9 am friday at the church - briefing 9:15 am - flag line after.

Escort to cemetery after service.  This warrior needs our respect and honor for what he has done for us.  No boundaries!  thanks for what you do.

Michael Galoozis, age 66, of Crown Point, IN passed away on January 4, 2009.  He was a graduate of Emerson High School, Class of 1961.  He was a member of AHEPA.  He was a veteran of the US Army - Viet Nam Conflict. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Theofilos and Maria (nee Ypsilantis) Galoozis and brother, Anthony Galoozis.  He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia (nee Tidd) Galoozis of Crown Point; son, Jason (Alisa) Galoozis & children; Mitchell, Mia and Thadeus; Son, Eric (Caroline) Schrenker & children, Gregory, Samantha and Benjamin; and son, Marcus (Michelle) Schrenker & children, Tyler, Alyssa and Jayden; Brothers, Jack (Elizabeth) Galoozis, George (Sevasti) Galoozis, Manuel (Joann) Galoozis and sister, Katherine (Jerry) Donigian.  Many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY AT SS Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison Street, Merrillville, IN.  Rev. Theodore Poteres and Rev. Christ Margellos officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.  Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Trisagion Service will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. www.burnsfuneral.com
