We have been asked by the DeFoe family to help in honoring Daniel M. DeFoe who passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 61 on Friday Dec. 5, 2008. Dan was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly, in addition Dan wanted to give back to his serving brothers and sisters by being a member of the Patriot Guard.  Dan will be missed deeply by his family and friends and his Patriot Guard brothers and sisters.  We will help the family as they remember Dan by forming a flagline in his honor at the visitation so please come help give the honor he deserves.

I salute Daniel for his double duty. He served his country in uniform, then served again as a shield for others in the PGR family. What greater dedication can be shown for the welfare and protection of others!!

Ride on brother, for you have earned an eternal shield for service to your fellow man. God must have needed a rider, and would only accept the best.

Our prayers are with the family of Mr. Defoe. Be proud, and wear your pride loudly.

His legacy involves military service and for that we are most grateful to have been recipients of his commitment, bravery, and sacrifice during his enlistment. Rest in peace Daniel. My regret and sympathy to the family and all the friends and Patriot Guard family of Daniel M. DeFoe. The factors of time, distance, and weather, prevent my attendence at the Honor Mission for Daniel; but they cannot diminish my respect for this man, nor my concern for those who mourn his loss. It is my prayer that Our Heavenly Father will abide with those whose hearts are filled with sadness...that they will know peace.
