Final Itinerary

Roman W. Lenz, Veteran, of Gaylord, MN - 06 Nov 06

The Metro Staging Area for the mission to honor SSG Roman Lenz will be at the VFW
620 Creek Rd, Chaska, MN in the Banquet Hall parking lot where we staged for the Statewide Rally ride to Mankato. The Staging area will start @ 8:15 and Kickstands up at 8:40 AM.
It is approximately an hours ride to Gaylord from Chaska, We will not plan any stops along the way.

In Gaylord we will stage at Egesdal Funeral Chapel, 74 Main St. There are several gas stations close by if anyone needs them. Kickstands up at 10:00AM for the approximate 3 minute ride to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Due to space restrictions we will be parking on the street behind the Church. (Fourth Street.)

Once parked we will come around to the front of the Church and set up the Flag Line from the parking lot to the front door of the Church by 10:15AM so that we are in place before anyone arrives. We will stand the line through the service, towards the end of the service we will move to a side door and line the short sidewalk to the hearse. Once the coffin has been placed in the hearse and the family has gotten in the first car behind the hearse we will break the line and move quickly to the bikes / vehicles. We will need to quickly mount up and move to the cemetery, an approximately 2 minute ride. At the cemetery will park in the parking lot for the ball field just across the street and then setup the Flag Line on the road into the cemetery so that when the hearse and family come to the cemetery they will ride through the Flag Line. We will have 10 minutes to get to the Bikes, ride to cemetery and line the road into the cemetery. I think this is enough time since the cemetery is so close. We will need to rush though.

We will man the Flag Line through the graveside ceremony, and wait until the family has left before breaking the Flag Line. Estimated end time of 1230.

As always, we will need to be self sufficient for the day, bring any food or beverages you will need for the day, Bring a 3 X 5 foot Flag, to hold in the Flag Line.

Please dress for the weather!! National Weather Service predicts a 20% chance of showers, mostly cloudy with a high near 56. Remember it will not be 56 degrees when we head out at 8:40 AM so please dress for the ride.

Any questions please email me at the address below.

Thank you all for what you do! It truly makes a difference in peoples lives at a very difficult time.
