SHORT NOTICE: SPC Jason A.R. Cox, 25, of Rochester, MN – 5 Nov. 06

 

 

PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE IN TIMES FOR THIS MORNING’S ESCORT!

 

Monday Internment Staging will be as follows:

 

11:00 am            Arrive at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home at 5421 Royal Place NW (SE Corner of 55th St and 18th Ave NW)

 

11:15 am +/-            Depart for Resurrection Catholic Church. We will travel East Circle Drive to Hwy 14, West to 12th Ave. (10 miles)

 

11:30 am +/-            Arrive at Resurrection Catholic Church to Pick Up Father Tom and immediately depart for Grandview Memorial Cemetery. (1 miles)

 

11:40 am            Arrive at Cemetery, park as directed. The family will already be at the cemetery.  There will be a short walk to the burial site.  At the site, we will provide a flag line for the family.

 

12:00 pm            Internment  begins at Grandview Memorial Gardens @ 1300 Marion Road SE.

SHORT NOTICE: SPC Jason A.R. Cox, 25, of Rochester, MN – 5 Nov. 06

 

Jason Cox is a Operation Iraqi Freedom Vet.  We have been requested to attend his funeral services this Sunday, November 5, 2006.

 

Craig Ugland will be the Ride Captain for this mission.  We will stand as guests arrive for visitation and the funeral. We will be dismissed after the completion of the funeral.  There will be no burial on Sunday.  The family has asked the PGR to escort them Monday from Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home to Grandview Memorial Garden, both in Rochester. Weather pending, we will provide a bike escort of approx 8-1/2 miles.

 

Sunday Funeral Staging will be as follows:

 

1:00 pm            Stage at the South Entrance of the Olmsted County Fairgrounds @ 16th St and Arena Drive SE. This is Approx 1 mile east of Hwy 52.

 

1:25 pm            Pre-Ride Briefing

 

1:35 pm            Kickstands Up – Travel 16th St East to Resurrection Catholic Church @ 1600 11th Ave SE. (1 mile)

 

1:40 pm            Arrive at final Staging Area. This will be across the street from the church in the Mayo High School Parking Lot. Walk over to church to form Flag Line at the entrance of the church.

 

2:00 pm            Visitation begins

 

3:00 pm            Funeral begins. We will be dismissed at the completion of the Funeral.  (Approx 1 hour)

This is Mr. Cox's obituary, as it appears in the Rochester Post Bulletin:

ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Jason A.R. Cox will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial will be at noon Monday in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester.

Mr. Cox, 25, of Rochester, died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2006) in Rochester.

He was born Oct. 4, 1981, in Queens, N.Y. He was a graduate of Mayo High School in Rochester. He served in the Army National Guard, including tours in the Persian Gulf, Kuwait and Kosovo. His National Guard Unit also provided security at the Rochester International Airport following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. After his discharge, he worked as a welder for Gauthier Industries in Rochester. He enjoyed bike riding, jogging, working out, reading, welding and spending time with his daughter. He was engaged to Jennifer Gosha of Rochester.

Survivors include his daughter, Reichle Cox of Rochester; his parents, Ronald and Carmen (Gruber) Cox of Rochester; a brother, Gregory of Rochester; and his paternal grandparents, Enid and Alfred Cox of Ocala, Fla. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.

Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom.
