Welcome home to the 113th Cav unit in LeMars Ia. As of today the tentative dates will be the 20th, 21st, or 22nd of October. They will be coming in by bus from Ft. McCoy Wis. Would like to pick up this convoy when it arrives in Worthington Mn, and escort them all the way to LeMars. This is my sons unit, he's finally coming home. as I mentioned these are tentative dates, depends on how long it takes the Army to process them out

Never again will an American Troop come home to anything less than a Hero's welcome. Thank you, the 113th, for your service, your sacrifice, and your devotion. You have fought for Freedom. And for those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know. It will be an honor to escort you home to the waiting arms of your families and friends. What more can I say but, WELCOME HOME!

Welcome home to all members of the 113th. Your service, sacrifice, and devotion say volumes about your caracter and love for family, fellow Americans, and your country. I have to warn you though that The Star Spangled Banner will have a whole new meaning to you and you will get the same chill down your back us veterans do when it is played. Thank you for your service. I look forward to escorting you home to your families from Worthington, MN.

As it stands now, they are pushing for the 22nd, depending on the amount of processing that they will go through. 22nd sounds good to me, cause its on a Sunday. Hope the weather holds out till then. When they leave Ft McCoy Wis, they will be on approximately 4 buses, not knowing for sure how many are from the Des Moines area, 1 or 2 buses will peel off on I-35 South from I-90 and go directly to Des Moines. The remainder of the buses wil continue on to LeMars for their homecoming. They are doing it this way because the Company Commander wants them to get home ASAP and doesn't want their families to have to travel to far to pick them up. It's only fair. Hell, after a year in Iraq I'd like to get home ASAP too, lots of time to make up for. LOL. Will try my hardest to keep everyone informed. but you know how the Government is, things can change at the last minute. Cross your fingers and pray for the 22nd and no snow or rain. Tap at ya later

All right folks here it is, this is all we've been waiting for. 113th CAV is coming home Sat the 21st. Here is the ride schedule;

Okay, here it is, the finalized date, time and info for the Troop C 1-113th
CAV Escort Home on Saturday, 21 October.

The main linkup location is the American Legion in LeMars, IA, 110 Plymouth
St SW at 2:30pm in the afternoon. Those coming from the north can meet in
Worthington, MN at the gas station just northeast of I90 & Hwy 60 at 5:30pm.
The following timeline will cover the rest and you can meet in any of these
towns to link up.

Those leaving from LeMars can drop off enroute at the town linkup points
listed below or simply meet there at the locations and times indicated.

2:30pm - arrive American Legion, LeMars, IA, 110 Plymouth St SW (Hwy 3), 3
blocks east of Hwy 75 & 3.
3:30pm - depart American Legion, LeMars, IA
3:50pm - arrive Alton, IA, Caseys Gas Station
4:15pm - arrive Sheldon, IA, Hardees at the intersection of Hwy 60 & 18.
4:35pm - arrive Sibley, IA, gas station by Super 8 Motel, east side of road,
Pronto I believe
5:30pm - Arrive Worthington, MN, gas station northeast side of I90 & Hwy 60

Return timeline from Worthington, MN

6:15pm - depart Worthington, MN
6:30pm - the Sibley, IA group departs and links up with the group as it
comes down Hwy 60
6:50pm - the Sheldon, IA group departs and links up with the group as it
comes thru town
7:05pm - the Alton, IA group departs and links up with group near at the Hwy

7:45pm - arrive LeMars Community High School Gymnasium

There will be a Ride Captain with each group at those 3 locations to ensure
you meet the times. I will be Ride Captain at Worthington, MN.

We will have a Iowa HP escort from the border of Minnesota to LeMars. There
will be parking provided at the H.S. for the bikes. It is your call if you
ride 2 wheels or 4 wheels but this mission will happen. Dress warm and be
prepared. Hopefully Mothernature will be kind to us and change the
forecast. Any questions, email or call me, home(712)546-8504 or
cell(712)540-3519. Make sure and pass this on to those without email.

Ride Safe and lets welcome the Men home!!!

I have a pickup and single bike enclosed trailer. I would like to meet in Worthington - unload the bike and ride to LeMars if anyone could drive the truck? Could also serve as support vehicle with trailer if anyone has trouble.

Very glad to see the final details - have been watching the forum closely in anticipation.
