 Our Mission Minimize

Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you.  We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

Tommy.JPG

Tommy “TomKatz” Poss 1952-2008

Tommy Clay Poss, 56, of Florence Alabama , passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, after a sudden illness.  Most of our members knew him as TomKatz whether on the forums or meeting him on a mission.  Tommy was a dedicated family man, a US Navy and Vietnam veteran, church member, member of the local Masonic Temple, and still he found time to honor our troops and their families as a Patriot Guard Rider – starting out on the flag line and becoming Ride Captain, Senior Ride Captain, Regional Captain and finally a member of the Board of Directors.

Those of you who knew Tommy were blessed.  He was one of the most genuine and good people that you could ever met, and he will be missed.  Those of you that ever met him knew right away that he was one of the good guys and we are thankful for that.

We all want to thank his wife of 34 years, Jackie, for sharing him with us, and want to wish his family and friends our sincere and heartfelt prayers.

We are all better people for having met Tommy.

Dear Fellow Patriots,

As you have probably noticed by now there is a new button on the home page just below the navigation pane on the left hand side.  This button will enable you to make a donation to our Legal defense fund.  It's labeled Defense Fund, as not to confuse it with the “Donate To PGR” button below it.  This is a PayPal account and 100% of donations will go to pay our legal costs for the trademark issue.  Our leadership was truly hoping it would not come to this, but they need your assistance in keeping the “Patriot Guard Riders” in the possession of its members, not one person.  The board has tried at length to negotiate this issue, but their efforts have fallen on deaf ears and are left no other option but to follow all legal avenues available to them.

This is not something the BOD asks lightly.  Our members already pay all of their own expenses to honor the fallen, to attend every mission.  They pay for the privilege to ride in the rain or in the cold, and the Board of Directors does not wish to further add to their burden.  Since the PGR is a 100% volunteer organization, it counts on donations from members and other concerned citizens to help keep us up and running.
If it appears the donations are approaching the amount of the legal costs, the button will go away.  We don't want to raise one extra penny this way; our members give so much already.

If there is any amount raised in excess of the legal fees, 100% of the surplus will be given to the HOTH program...

PGR Challenge Coins for Wounded Warriors

The PGR is proud to announce program available to all members to sponsor challenge coins that are being hand delivered to our soldiers that are recovering from injuries in the Critical Care VA facilities. If you would like to like to learn more about this unique opportunity to show your gratitude, follow the link below.

Billy and the Boys by jayhill111

This is my son ... with the 2nd Cav in Iraq.  They’re due home soon but I’m sure they’d love to see the photo go up.  I know AZ would probably like to see it since they all signed the flag.

4th Battalion, 9th Manchu's Infantry Regiment, from Fort Lewis, Wash. by jayhill111

4th Battalion_9th Manchus_Infantry_Regiment.jpg

Picture is of the:

4th Battalion, 9th Manchu's Infantry Regiment, soldiers of the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, from Fort Lewis, Wash.  The Stryker Brigade was part of the "surge" of troops into the Baghdad area.  They have just come home, to their families & friends.

This is my old regiment.  I was in Vietnam May 68-69.  The flag is sign by the 4/9 Infantry Manchu (Vietnam) Association.  The Manchu family.

We met the soldiers at our 2006 reunion.  We support them and their families, especially their time over in the sandbox.  We are so glad they are home! We know what it is like to be away in a far place and having few care about you.  We care...

We Will Never Let Another Vet Stand Alone Again

The 4/9 Infantry Manchu (Vietnam) Association and the PGRs are especially very proud of our soldiers.
