My sincere condolences to the family and friends of WING/PRG member Andrew Hitt. Your Service to all will not be forgotten.

'No Greater Love is this that a man is willing to lay down his life for another.' Only two men were willing to sacrifice their lives for us-Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. Neither of which can ever fully be repaid.

Thank you for your Service and my Freedoms. Your sacrifices will never go unnoticed. I am grateful to live in a country made up of volunteers like you. Your choice to protect our Nation and put your self on the line can never be repaid.

A different mission, though none are really the same.  I have had the honor of being there for a number of members and I knew them all well.  When I’d first read the e-mail that told me of Andy’s accident, it  was referring to a National Guard soldier but struck me as too familiar.  The next sentence brought it in focus as I recalled Andy as a member I had swapped a number of e-mails with.  He was quite worried about the proper mounting and display of flags on his bike and he really wanted to do it right.  I’d only met him once and I was reminded this week of the paradox.  We want to get to know the great people that we work with but that usually means we’ll be on a mission, something we hope we’ll never have to do again.  It's a shame that the second time I saw him was like this.  His Dad said he was proud of being a member and wanted us up front for Andy's last ride with us.

It was our privilege to do it for such a great guy.

The support/post for Andy Hitt posting brought tears to my eyes.

Such a great group of people from all over, will never be forgotten.

It's going to be some time before I can watch the home video I have of him at family gatherings.

Hitt you were one of my best freinds, one of my soldiers and my riding partner. I will never forget all the good times and
everything you taught me. We went overseas together and maintained friendship when we got back. You are truly missed bye all. I love you. Jeremiah

from Andy's Dad

10/4/08

I am the father of SSG Andrew Hitt. What an awesome display of honor and brotherhood you expressed at my son's recent funeral. How breathtaking it was to enter the church parking lot seeing all those American flags proudly flying. It was an honor to have the Patriot Guard Riders thunder Andy to his final resting place. Many, many comments were made about the attention to detail and the shear proudness you instilled on all. What an awesome tribute!

We, his parents, brother, fiance, are very proud of the many things that he achieved throughout his lifetime. The PGR and the military were important to him and affected his life in many ways. He would have loved the fact that these were a major part of his service. It would have meant the world to Andy to know that he had made an impact on these groups as well. We would like to thank everyone that remembered him. We would also like to send a special thanks to John Curran and all those who rode on such short notice, escorting our soldier to his final resting place.

There are no words that we could say that would truely express our appreciation for everything that the Patriot Guard Riders have done. Thank You.

Brother: Michael Hitt
