22 Jul 2008 10:40 AM Alert
Updated 8 Aug 08 0152 edt S Sturgis

This is a two part mission:

First part:

The PGR has been asked to provide a Flag Line and Escort for Fallen Hero, Marine LCpl Ivan Wilson, killed in Afghanistan.  We will post a Flag Line at his arrival on Aug 14, at 1202 pm (1202 - noon), at Sacramento Airport.  We will stage at 10:45 at the ARCO AM PM located just outside the airport, on Airport Blvd, just off I 5, going into the Airport. You can't miss it.

We will KSU at 11:00pm (1100)and proceed into Sacramento International Airport, arrival point to be announced at the Arco AM/PM.  We will set a Flag line for the young Marines return home.

After the Flag line, we will escort the Fallen Hero to the Jones and Lewis Memorial Chapel at 16140 Morgan Valley Rd, Lower Lake, Ca.  (Also known as "Main St")

http://tinyurl.com/5wr8zx

The ride is a approx 105 miles and should take between 2 and 2.5 hours.  Please insure you have a full gas tank before leaving  the Airport ARCO AM PM and you have water/fluid on your bikes.  Camelback Hydration is recommended.  The weather looks to be HOT and DRY.  Also, I realize that some may only have the time to attend the flag line and/or a portion of the escort - no problem.  Whatever you can do to assist in honoring this young Marine's sacrifice will be appreciated.  All PGR and all other MC groups will be utilized.

2nd Part of the Fallen Hero Mission:

On Aug 16, at 8:45 am (0845), we will stage at the gas station at Tower Mart Gas Station, 9815 Hwy 53, Lower Lake, Ca.

http://tinyurl.com/6k4z37

At this location, PGR and other Riders will be assigned their Missions.  Some will ride escort, some will go on to the Church and establish a Flag Line, some will go to other locations along the route to set their bikes and flags.

We will KSU to the Jones and Lewis Memorial Chapel at 16140 Morgan Valley Rd, Lower Lake, Ca.  at 8:55 am (0855).

http://tinyurl.com/5wr8zx

We will then escort LCpl Wilson to the Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 14405 Uhl Ave, Clearlake, Ca.

http://tinyurl.com/66c4bj

We will establish a Flag line into the church and then standby during the services.  After the services we will reestablish the Flag Line.  We will then escort LCpl Wilson to the Lower Lake Cemetery at 9040 Lake Street, Lower Lake, Ca where we will establish the final Flag Line.

http://tinyurl.com/6p6lez

Again, have plenty of fluids on you.  Parking at the cemetery is limited and is on hard packed dirt.  After the funeral, we will  arrange a staging point for those Riders wishing to ride home in groups.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. May your hearts be comforted and his soul is at peace.
We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under God shall have a new birth freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth." Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pfc. Ivan Wilson. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Ivan.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
