Here's a few shots from the airport escort sunday. Work keeps Vern and I from attending the rest of this Honor Mission....but we'll be thinking of his family, our PGR brothers and sisters and most of all for a very young True American Hero.

Cpl Zwilling and Family, It was an honor to stand outside the funeral home this evening. Each mission I participate in changes me for the better. My God grant you comfort and give you peace that Gunnar was met with the open arms of his mother. I can teach social studies because of the sacrifices of your son and family and all of the members and their family within our armed forces. God Bless... A Soldier's Teacher
Today, I stood With an American Flag at my right side I was thanked by strangers for being there and I said “Your Welcome” not knowing what else to say I was thanked by a soldier and I said “No, thank you. This is an honor” I watched the soldier, personally thank every individual standing there with a flag “It is an honor”; “Thank you” Were the responses He walked up to the flag truck With open hand, he laid it flat against the “Airborne” flag, and dropped his head The soldier within should have come home with him Instead his body made the journey home early A young soldier’s mission accomplished My husband states, “I don’t understand how or why you do this.” This soldier’s teacher stands with great sadness, with pride, with honor I tell him, “I don’t’ want to teach another Vietnam.” “It is what I can do. It is nothing compared to the life that was given.” The tears do not dry, another has given all … I stand with an American flag at my right side A soldier’s teacher weeps

The mission is complete ~ we have made it safely home! You are home as well, Dear Son, safe within God’s Arms. You will be missed each and every day, Dear Son you WILL be missed.
Our words of thanks don’t seem quite enough ~ for our hearts are heavy, filled with loss and sorrow at your passing, Dear Son. And, while we may not be related, may not have even known you personally, we know and are very grateful that our lives are much fuller, our children much safer, because of the dedication and sacrifice you have given.
Our Dear, Dear Son, may you rest in peace! ~~ N. Ballance, 07200822
