08 Jul 2008 9:07 PM Alert

Jimmy John Carlile was born on 17 December, 1949 in Hobbs, New Mexico, and
entered heaven on 6 July 2008, at 10:12 AM. Jim passed away in his home with
family and friends at his bedside.

Jimmy married Judy (Porter) on 16 April 1977, in Abilene, Texas and had a
blessed 31 years of marriage.  Jimmy was Judy" heart. Jim was a loving and
devoted father of two children, daughter Jennifer Evon and son, John Matthew
Carlile of San Antonio a Marine vet of 6 years and current Firefighter in
Converse, Tx.

Jimmy was in the military for 23 years, and was awarded the Meritorious
Service Medal, AF Commendation w/3 oak leaf clusters, Achievement medal, AF
outstanding unit award w/5 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal
w/bronze star, Vietnam Service Metal w/3 bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign
Medal, and 11 ribbons to accompany the medals.

Jimmy played golf at Ft Sam Golf Course for a number of years, and was very
intrigued by the formation of the Patriot Guard Riders. Not knowing their
function or participation, Jimmy was very touched by their presence at the
Ft Sam Cemetery. Jimmy would pull over on the side of the golf course, and
the street to watch them pass. Our love and appreciation goes out to the PGR
and their presence in honor of Jimmy.

I realize that this is a work day for most, but if at all possible make
every effort in sending this Fallen Hero home.      Thanks Larry

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of MSG (ret) Jimmie John Carlisle, USAF, Viet Nam Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Jimmie.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
