Matthew Ketterman,  retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant, is now standing guard at Heaven’s gates.  The family has requested that the Patriot Guard be there to honor Matthew.  Master Sergeant Ketterman served in the US Marine Corp for 20 years and retired four years ago.  He served in Kuwait and also did two tours in Iraq.

Services will be at Merkle Funeral Home in Monroe, Michigan on Sat., May 24, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with a viewing on Friday May 23, 2008.  The family has also requested a motorcycle escort to the cemetery.

 

Staging will be as follows:

Time:

Friday May 23, 2008 at 10:15 A.M. briefing at 11:15 A.M.  We will restage at 3:30 P.M. and the briefing will be at 4:15 P.M.

Sat. May 24, 2008,  service staging will be at Merkel Funeral Home at 9:15 A.M. with briefing at 10:15 A.M.  Flag line will start at 10:30 A.M. 

We will escort Master Sergeant Ketterman to his final resting place following the service.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of MSgt. Matthew Ketterman in this very sad time in your lives. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a debt that can never be repaid. We know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. I thank you for the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest.
