The Ochsner family has been a long standing inspiration to me.

In a recent newspaper interview, Bob was asked about his son, Sgt. 1st Class James S. Ochsner, KIA 11-15-2005 :
What does the community lose when a soldier dies?”  His reply:  “The question is not what we lost, but what we gained…And what we gained was what he did for his country ".

Rob,
It is my honor to be part of your Welcome Home !!
Thank you for your service and dedication to our country.

Respects,
Scoot

A Prayer for Our Soldiers' Families

Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return home of our soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you give our military commanders and political leaders wisdom and courage to fulfill their daunting responsibility. Lord, we implore you to please remember the families of these brave men and women. Bless the wives, parents, children and siblings of our fighting forces and give them solace and comfort. If it be your will, bring their loved ones home swiftly, sound in mind and body.

We pray these things in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost,

Amen

Thanks Mark and Scoot

Thanks Mark and Scoot.  Love that story.  Loved to hear the things he said and loved the way he said them.  The best part was his confirmation of success following from the surge of American troops in Iraq.

But then, almost incidentally, the First Sergeant said to the reporter, Frank Abderholden:  “I'm pretty sure you're going to screw up this story."

Of course, I only know that because Mr. Abderholden, to his credit, included that comment in his story.  Then, this diligent reporter had to slug his story – he had to give it a filename.  Did he slug it “BeachParkPatriot”?  Or “LakeCountyHero”?  No.  He went with:

SurgeGuy

Loved that.  We should reserve that handle in case Robert ever wants to join the PGR.
