Thank you for your service PFC Walz. May you rest in peace.

“Some people’s lives can truly make a difference however long or short their lives on earth. They give the gifts of kindness and of caring. They sow the seeds of friendship and self-worth. Some people’s lives are beautiful examples of putting others first, and when they are gone, the lives of those they touched are so much richer, and the love they shared lives on and on.”

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pfc. Christopher I. Walz ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

To the family and friends of the ever so young Pfc Christopher Walz,

There are no words or platitudes that can temper your pain. I can’t think of anything in life that could be more painful, then the loss of a loved one, especially a son.

I would, however, like to take a moment to remind you that as deep as the hole in your heart feels at this time, it will be filled over time with the wonderful times spent together.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” ~From a headstone in Ireland

Thank you Christopher for your service to our nation, and it's people, you are a hero to all.

Always,

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

****RIDE REPORT*****

Members from the Patriot Guard, Oregon Veterans Motorcyle Association, and American Legion Riders braved the low 30's morning air to come together for the memorial services for our fallen hero, Christopher Ian Walz, on Saturday, November 14th.  This was the 2nd Phase of this mission, as we had welcomed Ian home on Thursday afternoon, November 12th, to Portland.  On that mission we had 64 bikes and 73 members to honor this young man and his family as we escorted him and his family to Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver. Additionally, the Air National Guard had a missing man formation of F-15's take off just as the honor guard was placing Ian into the Coach, an absolutely awesome site.

Saturday, there were a total of 83 patriots, 76 bikes and 5 cages as we assembled the flagline at the Portland Air National Guard airbase outdoor pavillion.  A cordon of flags and members at present arms welcomed the Missing Man formation, Coach, and family as they arrived in the crisp morning air.  During the service, as I presented the plaque to Vicky, Ian's mom, she whispered "this is the best one of all"!!

After the service, as the family went to the gymnasium to greet those that came, members stood guard over the coach until it was time to escort Ian and his family back over to the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  We are very blessed to live in an area that we have the amazing support from local law enforcement jurisdictions that protect the procession as we escort our heroes and their families.  They do a superb job, shutting down the freeway so only the procession is on it, and closing roadways on the route.  I can't say enough about the support and our appreciation for their involvement with our missions, especially during such tight budget times.

My thanks also to the Assistant Ride Captain Steve Guild.  His coordination with this mission was invaluable.  When we arrived back at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, the Patriot Guard were honored as the final pallbearers that brought Ian back inside to his family's private room.

It was an honor and humbling to be the Ride Captain for Ian's final journey home.  And it was a great honor to be among each and every one of you as we welcomed this American Hero to his final resting place.  There were several of you that stepped up and helped make this mission as successful as it was.  You are all truly amazing and again, thank you all, you are all true American Patriots!!!  And to our hero,........God's speed Ian, God's speed.

Respectfully.........

Dirt
