Mission Report: CA - Send Off - 129th Rescue Group, San Francisco, CA, 28 JUN 09 Staging was to be at 11:30. We arrived at approximately 11:15 and to our surprise, many were there already. Fortunately with prior contact to our POC Carolann, she was already in the parking lot waiting for us. After a count of 33 motorcycles, we held the mission briefing, and got information from our POC. At that time she did not have any flight conformation, told us that our heroes would be boarding the bus at 12:00, and would be heading for the International flights area. We went KSU at approximately 11:33 and started inside of the base with our escort who was also our POC. While enroute to the bus embarkation area, we noticed the bus already heading our way at about 11:40 am. We managed to do a loop around turn around, and picked up our package on a roll. As we got into our positions on a roll, our heroes were hanging out the windows and giving us cheers as they were shocked to see more motorcycles than there were of them packed into that bus. It was a long slow trip to the airport, as the bus seemed to have problems keeping up, even at 50 mph.but we managed to keep it all together. Half way to the airport, I got a signal from our point of contact, and as I rolled up beside her vehicle, she yelled out that she had recieved flight confirmation, and that it was United Airlines at the "Domestic Terminal". Even at that we managed to get the word out to all of our members while on the roll. We rolled up to where the bus was to disembark it's passengers, and stopped to shake their hands and send them off right, before we got back on our bikes, and departed. Good Job to our Heroes and our Patriot Guard Riders, as both are as flexible as can be, which is one more reason why the two go hand in hand with each other! Bunker
