 SUNDAY - SEPTEMBER 28, 2008 – RALSTON, NEBRASKA

Fallen Heroes and Families Appreciation Day, September 28

On Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. in Independence Square, the City of Ralston will be hosting a Fallen Heroes and Families Appreciation Day. The day will focus on the sacrifices of our service members who have died over the past few years in various wars and conflicts around the world protecting our freedoms. In addition to the sacrifices of the service members, the City will recognize the families for their role in their service members' lives and the support they provided which allowed their loved ones to serve.

All families of service members from Nebraska are invited to this special day. Besides being a day of appreciation, this will allow families who have experienced a loss as the result of the war to come together for support and sharing.

During the ceremony, the names of the service members will be read and a bell will be struck in their honor by our own PGR member Jack Kaufmann. The public is invited to attend and share this day as well as show support to the families.

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the City of Ralston to participate in this event. This is a good opportunity for the PGR to be able to continue to honor and respect the families of our Fallen Warriors.

The Statewide will go out Sep 14. If you are not getting the Statewide messages you should check your profile to be sure your "Region" is shown as "Nebraska". That is the key to receiving them. You should also have received a statewide about the 9/11 Ceremony in Bellevue this Thursday.

Chuck,
Sorry my friend, the only thing that has been posted is what's in the forums, and on this "Memorial Mission" thread, there has been no "Statewide" sent out to all the members in the state.
Thanks

VNCAC and Cliff are correct. The statewide has not gone out. It was sent to the MODS several days ago when I saw it but they have delayed transmission until Sep 14 as it is "too early". We have set our suspense timer to make sure it goes. The information in the first post above is basically correct. I changed my post to reflect this info but left the reminder about profiles as it is still valid. Thanks for catching that.

When I sent the STATEWIDE request to National they advised holding off until the 14th. They said their expierence is STATEWIDES are most effective when sent no more than 2 weeks out.

I will be happy to add anyone to my personal contact list. Simply send me an e-mail with that request. I notified my list at the same time I did the original post.
