Update 12 JUN 08 2201 PDT by Zippy

IN has been diligently working on this Mission along with the DOD MIA assigned military officer. To the best of our collective knowledge we now know that the closest living relative of Pfc Dinerboiler lives in California but we have been told the funeral will be in Elkhart, IN. However, the date will most likely be sometime in October of 2008. When the relatives decide to let us know the exact details we will be ready.

Soldier Missing In Action From Korean War Is Identified
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced today that the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

He is Pfc. Milton Dinerboiler Jr., U.S. Army, of Elkhart, Ind. His burial date is being set by his family.

Representatives from the Army met with Dinerboiler's next-of-kin to explain the recovery and identification process, and to coordinate interment with military honors on behalf of the secretary of the Army.

In late November 1950, Dinerboiler was assigned to the Heavy Mortar Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment, then attached to the 31st Regimental Combat Team (RCT), 7th Infantry Division. The team was engaged in battle against the Chinese People's Volunteer Forces near the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea, from late November to early December 1950. Dinerboiler was captured by the Chinese and marched on a route north of the Chosin Reservoir. He died in mid-to-late April 1951, from poor health and the lack of medical treatment. He was buried beside a hill along the route.

In 2002, a joint U.S./Democratic People's Republic of Korea team, led by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), recovered human remains from an isolated grave north of the Chosin Reservoir. The site correlates to a route that American POWs were taken while being moved north to a POW camp.

Among other forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from JPAC and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory also used mitochondrial DNA and dental comparisons in the identification of Dinerboiler's remains.

            For additional information on the Defense Department's mission to account for missing Americans, visit the DPMO Web site at http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo or call (703) 699-1169.

After all these years your back home Pfc. Milton Dinerboiler Jr., U.S. Army, Korean War MIA. You were never forgotten by your loved ones or a grateful nation. Welcome home.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Milton.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

A HERO was lost
In a war long ago
Now he has come home
Our Honor we will show

He went to battle
In a far away land
He gave his all
He made his stand

Honor and respect
To you must be paid
The PGR will take you
Where to rest you will be laid

Look for the FLAGS
Listen for the rumble
The PGR is coming
With hearts oh so humble

We pay great honor
To one so brave
Your final return
We waited and craved

Honor and respect
Is long over due
The PGR will be there
To show it for you

His sacraflce must never fade
His memory must never dim
We are still free Americans
Because of HEROS like him

Welcome home, Warrior
A job well done
We are still the greatest
Because of you, an AMERICAN SON

MAY OUR ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS THOSE WHO ARE NOT YET HOME FROM WARS OF YESTERDAY AND MAY HE HOLD THEM IN HIS LOVING ARMS FOR ETERNITY.
