The PGR has been requested to stand in Honor and Respect of Larry J. Barlow, U.S. Army Veteran.  Larry passed away, suddenly, on 2 May 08 at his home in Akron, OH.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 6 May 08, at the Field Funeral Home, Rt 2 Box 324, Masontown, WV  26542 (http://tinyurl.com/5j6tnu) beginning at 1100, with interment to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

Currently there is no RC assignment for this mission, however, Ohio PGR member Dwayne Wissinger will be in attendance and will make the plaque presentation if no RC can be found.

Given the extreme short notice of this Mission of Honor, any who are able to attend are requested to muster at the funeral home NLT 1030 tomorrow (Tuesday) to establish a flag line prior to the services.

I sincerely apologize for the late notice of this but word was just received this morning and confirmation was not obtained until this afternoon.  Any and all who are willing/able to stand to show our Honor and Respect for another American Veteran would be appreciated.
Respects,
Joe

Thank you, Larry, for your honored service to our country during a period when such service was not appreciated by all Americans.  May God welcome you with open arms as you approach the Gates of Heaven.

May your family take comfort in knowing that you continue to watch over them from your place among the Angels.  May they find healing in God's mercy during this most difficult time.

Stand at ease Larry.  Your earthly duty is now complete.  May you rest in honored peace.  God Speed.

I will make every effort to be there to stand in Honor and Respect.
Respects,
Joe

I would like to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Larry Barlow. I would also like to say a sincere thank you to Mr. Barlow, for his service to our country. I appreciate the sacrifice of not only himself, but his family at the time he was in the Army. Patriots such as Larry are what allow us as Americans to enjoy the freedoms that we currently enjoy. Regardless of what a vocal minority might say, we owe a debt of gratitude to Larry.

May you rest in peace, and may your family be comforted at this time of loss.

Lace and I offer our prayers, not only for Veteran Soldier Larry J Barlow but for his family. May you take comfort in knowing he is with God and will watch over his family and his fellow Veterans.

I wish to thank Mister Barlow for his service to his country at a time when there was so much turmoil here at home, I regret I will be unable to stand in honor of this hero but will be there in sprit. Other commitments prevent me from taking part in our group's honor to him

Sincerely and with great respect,

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Larry J. Barlow for his service to our country. Over the years, many have chosen to stay at home during wars/conflicts, but it’s the “warriors” who make the difference…the ones who give of themselves, the ones who give up time with family and loved ones…yes, they are the ones who will always be remembered as the true heroes. May God give an extra measure of strength and comfort to the family and loved ones of Larry at this most difficult time. I salute you, Sir, for your service to our country.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."
