A Prayer for Our Soldiers' Families

Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return home of our soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you give our military commanders and political leaders wisdom and courage to fulfill their daunting responsibility. Lord, we implore you to please remember the families of these brave men and women. Bless the wives, parents, children and siblings of our fighting forces and give them solace and comfort. If it be your will, bring their loved ones home swiftly, sound in mind and body.

We pray these things in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost,

Amen

Sorry for the delay in the final report. What a wonderful ride. We had 18 bikes that weathered the cold and did one great job making the Marines feel like heros. I can't say enough about the privelege I have of being a ride captain. There is not a better group of people that come for the soul purpose of riding to respect and honor those that the ride is for. The Marines had to be about to bust open as those 18 bikers escorted them home to their families. The Major came right off the bus before greeting anyone else and shook each PGR members hands and thanked them for what they did. He was very moved. Not just him, but many of the Marines. I can't say enough about the way the Peoria County Sheriffs Department goes beyond any expectations to make these PGR rides a success. Lt. and the sheriffs motorcyclist along with the State Trooper that went and found the busses. Thanks must go to the police and fire personel for all they did. We had 5 new PGR members on their first ride. I was so proud to meet and ride with these indivduals. I can't remember each name, but welcome and may we have many HAPPY rides together. Again, thanks to each one that came out in the very cold, and waited for a very long time, but never heard a grumble. Thanks to each of you for making my job so much of an enjoyment. Also, thanks to Pastor Rod for setting up all the arrangments at the Steak and Shake. Everyone should get to know this great man of God as well as his lovely wife. One great couple. Thanks also to Mike for helping out and for the wonderful breakfast. Not expected, but appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. Welcome Home Marines and May God Bless your time with your families. Thanks for giving some of the best and most precious years of your life so I as well as the rest of America can live free and for the privelage of being able to pastor a church without fear of my life.
