ATTENTION ALL PGR FOR SHUMWAY The Effingham County Sheriff's Office has just contacted Becky. They want all PGR at the BP Station staging area by 0830 hours in order to move us up to the church and in place by 0900 hours. This means that if you are travelling in Friday morning, give yourself extra time. AGAIN, STAGING AT BP HAS BEEN MOVED UP 1/2 HOUR TO 0830 HOURS 19MAY06!
We will still be at Flying J at 0700 and have enought time to eat and get to the BP.
Dave
Itinerary Update.
As of now this mission is in two parts.
1) The return from the airport on Monday has now been changed till Tuesday. This is ESCORT ONLY with times to be determined. I appreciate any local support available.
I also spoke with Officer Sean Arron. (note he's posted this forum)
They have escort to meet at the Baptist Church just north of the 1-70 exit. It is across from a McDonald's, Subway and Stuckey's. There are two gas stations and one if not both have premium (for the big V-Twins). The church lot is large, completely paved and has a long wide drive that we can line-up on.
2) The funeral is on Friday, May 19th at 10:30 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway, IL. Staging at 9:00 AM in an area TBA.
The first part, sad to say, is still vague because the Army has not communicated the exact arrival time with the funeral director. All this is hampered by a weekend no less. I hate to see folks come a long distance with an inconclusive time. You could be waiting hours. Please decide if this is in your heart to do. I plan to be at both events. I have been pressing the LEO for a time of their briefing so that we can go from there.
I would like to gather all available members of the Patriot Guard Riders and Supports on Friday at 9AM at a place to be determined by my local coordinating staff. At least this is a firm time and YOU WILL BE NEEDED. Please bring 3 by 5 flags. I have been informed that permits have been requested by others.
As posted Wed Morning. Route 33 near the intersecton of Route 32 at 9:00 on Friday, May 19. We were advised by the state police to congregate after the construction zone on 33.
I have secured the permission of the manager of the BP plaza on Route 33 on Lake Sarah Road (AKA Louie’s Landing). There is are 2 entrances to the plaza, one on route 33 and one on Lake Sarah Rd. The entrance on Sarah Rd is the best because no gravel. We will congregate near the car wash area of the plaza at 9:00 AM and briefing then kickstands up. Briefing to follow there. No police escort will take place for the mile trek to the Catholic Church parking lot. Park tight. You will have a little hiking to do with those flags. We will be told where to stand with pride for Chris.
I plan to depart Chatham and arrive down route 32.
