ESCORT-KIA - Cpt. Rowdy J. Inman-Tues 1.Jan 2008

Capt Inman is estimated to arrive time at 1145am on Tuesday 1 Jan 2008.

Staging will be between 1115-1130am at the truck inspection lot at the Robert Gray Airfield Field Road (Clark RD Exit by Copperas Cove) Checkpoint off of Highway 190.

For those who are coming to the escort for Capt Inman and are unfamiliar with Robert Gray Army Airfield: From highway 190 take the West Fort Hood exit. If you are west bound you will turn left and cross under the highway. Obviously if you are eastbound then turn right.

The lot is just prior to the ID check point on the right hand side of the road.

It is important that you stop at this lot. Do not attempt to continue to the airfield as you will be turned back by Military Police. There are security procedures in effect at this time beyond what is normal for this airfield.

Weather is forecast to be cold and windy. It will not be a happy new year for his family. Dress for the elements and let’s ride in force for this American Patriot.

I (Dorothee) will be at Harper Talasek Funeral Home (Corner of 38th St & Atkinson, Killeen) at 12pm to set up flags, awaiting the arrival of Cpt. Rowdy J. Inman, Escort and his family.

If you like to help me or if you are in a cage, please meet me at the Harper Talasek funeral home,  at 12pm. Cages in an Escort can be dangerous, because the Police does not know, the PGR is in cages and they will force you to the side of the road for the procession.

If it is cold, I will see if I can bring some coffee and Hot Chocholate, but I can't promise it, so please make sure you bring yourself something to drink and a snack.

After the escort we have a chance to go and eat at Bush's Chicken. Not sure if the Trailer with PGR merchandise will be there, but if not we live just a few blocks from the Funeral Home, if anything is needed.

The Memorial for Capt Inman is on Friday, 4 Jan 2008, but we do not have any information on it at this time. Please keep a close watch on the local website www.centexpgr.org and your email for further information.

RC for the Escort is Kaz
Airport RC is Hacksaw

Have a nice New Years and ride safe

It's with a heavy heart that I ask CenTex to prepare for the arrival, escort and burial of a friend, Cpt. Rowdy J. Inman. I served with Cpt. Inman when he was a NCO. He was a good man. It's a great loss to all Americans.

Cpt Inman arrived at Dover, Maryland yesterday and will be ready for transport to Robert Gray Army Airfield on Fort Hood, Texas as soon as his brother and escort join him at Dover AFB. His escort arrived in Dover yesterday.

We expect Cpt. Inman will arrive at Robert Gray Army Airfield on Fort Hood, Texas on Tuesday, 1 Jan 2008.
His family wishes for a Friday memorial service. There will be no graveside service since Cpt. Inman is to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, 4 January 2008 at Harper Talasic Funeral Home on 38th Street in Killeen, Texas with a time to be determined.

Rowdy, I'll see you in Fiddler's Green when I get there. Scout's Out!!!!

THANK YOU" to both Heroes, for that is what you were in life, and will remain forever in death; HEROES. Americans sleep safer tonight because of men like you. Our nation is poorer, however, because two of her soldiers died today. To your families:

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom." We salute you ,.......... My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."
