Received from Cliff Leach:

It is my sad duty to report that two North Carolina soldiers were among those killed in the helicopter crash reported this past week in Afghanistan.  The names of those killed have not been released by DoD pending notification of their next of kin.  The following are taken from news reports in the Fayetteville news paper.

The names of the paratroopers have not been released, but Bob Allgaier told the Omaha World-Herald in Nebraska that one of the soldiers killed was his son, 33-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Chris Allgaier. His wife and three children live near Fort Bragg.  I have been in contact with the CAO.  CWO3 Allgaier will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of CWO Allgaier, a TRUE AMERICAN HERO. Our freedoms have been protected by all these great people that put on the uniform and volunteer to stand up for us. Many years of shedding tears have gone by and unfortunately we will shed more. One thing for certain though, we will have today’s heroes to thank for allowing us to live in such a great nation. Too sad others can’t see the light. Our soldiers are the greatest bunch of people on this earth and as we move forward we owe a special thanks to them and their families. Without the family support it is hard to have such Great Americans. Standing by with my Flag held high. “You Will Never Be Forgotten”

If there are any services in the Omaha area for CWO Allgaier we would be more than happy to make the ride from Kansas City to honor him. A seven hour ride, there and back, is nothing to honor someone who gave the ultimate sacrifice to provide me and my famliy the freedom that we sometimes take for granted. God Bless....
