To the Family and Friends of Sgt McDonald,

My heartfelt condolences go out to you all.  Words can not convey the sorrow that is felt by all when one of America’s patriots has laid down his life so that others may enjoy the everyday freedoms that we take for granted.   I for one will never forget the sacrifice made by one who strongly believed in, exemplified and committed his life to the very ideals that forged this nation and have kept it strong all these years.  May God comfort you with his strength in this difficult time and may he grant eternal peace to our Nation’s patriot.

Respectfully,

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

Dear Family of Sgt. McDonald, with heartfelt sadness, we write to tell you thank you for the gifts your loved one possessed. He is, indeed, surrounding you now, wherever you go. We thank you for his commitment and pray God blesses you, with the comfort of knowing he is a hero and one who sets forth an example in so many ways for others. Reading your Maine news article, I feel we know Sgt. McDonald, as we lost our nephew in a similar way, he also being a mechanic, who signed onto convoy duty. They are a special breed, these brave men and women and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers always.

Thank you for the mission you gave to your life in protecting our freedoms, and striving to give others, theirs. The lives of you and the men and women who have gone before you are raised high, and not given in vain. I honor you, and pray that our children will learn to do the same throughout coming generations. God bless your family, and may they keep their memories alive and rejoice in the life of a hero.
