Update: 12 JAN 07 @ 2000 by Gary Schrock, SRC
The remains of Senior Airman Daniel Miller will return home on Sunday, January 14.
Current plans are for casket to arrive at the Quad Cities International Airport at 11:25 am.
The Casket will then be transported to Galesburg with an escort provided by the Patriot
Guard Riders. The family will also be present in the motorcade.
The motorcade will consist of several select PGR Support Vehicles that have been
predetermined due to patriotic images and flag carrying capabilities. The weather
outlook is bleak and safety, honor and respect are all being put into force. If you
come to honor, please do so at the Bethel Baptist Church with flags that will be
provided by the PGR Support Captains.
The motorcade will travel the following route:
US Route 150 South to Illinois Route 17 (South of Alpha)
Illinois Route 17 East to US Route 34
US Route 34 West to North Henderson Street, Galesburg
Henderson Street to Fremont, then Left/Right on Fremont
Fremont Street to Bethel Baptist Church.
The motorcade will pass through or along the cities of Coal Valley, Orion, Woodhull,
Altona, Onieda, and Wataga prior to entering Galesburg.
Upon arrival of the motorcade, a brief ceremony honoring Senior Airman Daniel
Miller and his family will be conducted at the Bethel Baptist Church.
Those wishing to show their respect are asked to gather at the funeral church no
later than 12:30 and bring either a small candle or flag. Members of the Galesburg
National Guard Unit’s Family Readiness Group will have a limited number of flags
and candles available at the service.
Others not able to attend the brief service are asked to display a ribbon or a US
Flag along the route of the motorcade.
Law enforcement agencies ask that those wanting to show their respect not to
stand on the shoulder of any of the designated highways, but rather in a parking
area or a yard which is a safe distance from the highway.
PLEASE REMEMBER: As in the past, many elements beyond our control can
change any of this information. Please be flexible.
A PGR Honor Guard will remain with Daniel from this time until interment.

Baptist Church in Galesburg. The family will be present from 5:00-9:00.
