31 Dec 2006 4:11 PM Alert
Updated 07 JAN 07   1343 est  S Sturgis

This is the final itinerary for Spc. Dustin Donica, who gave all for you and me.  The Donica family has received a lot of unwanted attention and harassment because Dustin was the 3000th KIA in the war.

I know this is on a work day and we have been over run with missions the last month but please plan on making this mission to honor this fallen hero from our area.  Our fallen heroes deserve nothing less than our best efforts to honor them.

Service Date: Monday January 8th

Staging Location:  4765 FM 1960 West at Breck Street in the abandoned Target parking lot behind Wolf Cameras.

Time: 12N -13:00   KSU at 13:00  We have LEO escort to the church

Service Location  John Wesley UMC (this is the same church we had Cpt. Fraser's services)

Cemetery:  Kline in Tomball

Ride Captains:
Lead Ride Captain: John Darner AKA JohnnyD     e-mail   pgrrchouston@yahoo.com
Co-Captains:  Larry Ormond AKA Breeze  lormand@houston.rr.com
Rick Cunningham AKA Ride The Wind  e-mail windrider.127@peoplepc.com

Weather:  As good as it gets, no rain, a little cold in the morning, 60s later in the day with sunshine

For newbies:
What do I wear?:  Our only requirement is that you wear something, leather is normally the flavor of the day.

What to bring?:    Water and a snack, we will have some down time to rest after the service starts.  We plan on a forward element moving to the cemetery with the flags once the service starts.

What do I do?:    Follow our lead, you will do fine, just bring a heart full of respect for this fallen hero.

Iron horses if you have them, cages are always welcomed.

Please follow this thread on the PGR web site for any last minute updates.

To the family of Spc. Donica...
What words could possibly help during a time like this…
When we know not what we should pray for as we ought, the Spirit maketh intercessions for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26
So let not your heart be troubled, for your loved one has gone to the place which Jesus has prepared.
Stand down soldier, your mission here is complete.

==============================

When a mans heart is full of deceit it burns up, dies and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse, a wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes the Dark Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of silence and a mission of justice. - Steve "Sting" Borden

We can't begin to imagine the pain of losing our son, but we understand the pride of knowing there are still heros willing to fight for and pay the untimate price for that in which he believes. We are proud of Dustin, as if he were our own. Here's a poem that has helped me through recent hard times, I hope they comfort you.

God's Kind Care
God hath not primised skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways, all our lives thru';
God hath not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear many a burden, many a care.
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide, swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep, never a river turbid and deep:
But God hath promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.
by Annie Johnson Flint

May God bless you, comfort you and keep you.
Bill and Leitha Ingram

God saw you getting tired, but peace was not to be
So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we prayed when we learned you passed away
And though we loved you dearly we could not make you stay

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hads at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best

May God bless and keep you during this trying time. We are proud and humbled that this soilder would pay the ultimate price for billions of people he's never known.

It saddens me to know that another has fallen, knowing that freedom carries a stiff price, but also knowing that those who serve may pay that price. I am honored to live in a country where others will serve and protect, trying to make the world a better place.

I know that no honor we can convey, no tribute we can perform, and no words we can speak can adequately say how grateful we are that Dustin served his country, and how sad we are that he has fallen. If we are called upon to honor this fallen soldier, I plan to be there to show what respect that I can.

Standing by in Rosenberg.

I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Spc. Dustin Donica. Your watch is over and your comrades who have gone before you have welcomed you into heaven. Everyone in this country should honor you your ultimate sacrifice in protecting our nation’s freedom from those who would cause terror against us.
