Mac has asked me to post this itinerary information.  The mission is a GO in Superior, Wisconsin.  Following is the pertinent information and FINAL ITINERARY from Mac:

I have spoken with the family of Marine Lance Cpl. Adam VanAlstines family. We are invited to show at the service. The service is Monday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m. at the High school, 2600 Catlin Ave .We are to meet at the mall parking lot at 2:45p.m. , by the theatre sign. The mall is on 28th st. and Hill. I know this is as far away as a Wisconsin mission can be but lets show the family we care. Please remember PGR protocol especially if there uninvited guests there. I would think I need not explain any further. Remember, bring a flag on a pole. 3x5 will work well. In the near future I will have a supply of flags on hand for those who don't or cannot bring one.thanks you,  Mac

Thank you, Lance Cpl Vanalstine, for the ultimate sacrifice you have given us. I hope to ride (w/ 4 wheels, of course) to Superior to honor you, if your family allows.

It's not aptitude but attitude which gains altitude.

I've been in the military for 28 years now but grew up in Superior and graduated from the high school there. Appreciate any news you can pass-on about services for Lance Corporal Vanalstine. If there's anyway I can attend, I'll be there. My condolences and prayers go to family and friends of this hero.

Hello all.  I'm a new member (1st mission) and I would be able to attend Monday to pay my respects one of America's hero's.  I'd be coming from the Waukesha area.  It's a pretty long drive to do by myself (6+ hours) but I would be able to take 2 or 3 others along if anyone is interested.

I'll be there also.

BTW that mall is Mariner Mall. If you are going north into Superior on US 53/US 2 be on the lookout for the Mariner Mall sign to turn at the proper place. (it is not 28th St at that point but will lead to it) That would be the 2nd stoplight coming from the south. The first stoplight is just about underneath a railroad bridge and the 2nd one is about a mile and a half or so up the road. Hope I didn't confuse anyone.

If you are coming up WI 35, just turn right on 28th St and proceed to Mariner Mall.

From MN, I couldn't begin to explain.

Superior is not a very large city so there are no great distances involved once you reach the city limits. but it can be confusing the way it is laid out.

I'll furnish my cell phone number if anyone needs direction on Monday.

Superior is about 2.5 hours from Eau Claire.

And snow is in the forecast for extreme NW 'sconsin on Sunday and Monday. But fairly warm.

From a California newbie to the couple of newbies who just posted. Follow the ride captain's lead, don't let them out of your site for a minute and if you don't understand something or you have a question ask the ride captain immediately. Things happen fast and a newb (I'm one too) can be slow. Show nothing but respect and bring any flags you can (preferably with poles). Dress how you feel is appropriate for the occasion. Most of all honor our newest hero and his/her family in any way you can.

I hope this helps.

I talked to LEO and they said WBC will be there. They (WBC)have a particular distaste of Wisconsin for a couple reasons and am sure they will be at their best. LEO requested to stop at our meeting place and to brief us as to what they expect. They were supportive of us on the phone but are willing to issue citations to anyone they said. There is another local fringe group that may cause problems. Try to meet there by2:45 so we can have a quick meet and be on our way. From what I understand the school is a minute from there. To those coming up, thanks alot. I know this is a tough one as it couldn't be any further away.

Getting there from Minnesota is pretty easy.  Take I-35 to the US highway 2 bridge (that's the humungous high one) and just go with the flow to Belknap Street.  Follow that East (to your left) almost all the way across town, and take a right on Hill.  That takes you right to the Mall.

I'm hoping to make it (sounds like it's a 4-wheel day) -- sending the leave request to boss's home email today.
