The parents and family of Michael Shipman, US Army have requested the attendance of The Patriot Guard Riders at the funeral services for their son.

Michael Shipman, 19 was killed on base in Okinawa do to  a tragic vehicle accident.  Michael will be laid to rest at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Tuesday November 24th following services at the Clarkston United Methodist Church.  PGR has been asked to stand in honor at both the Church and Cemetery, and to escort Michael between the two.

Clarkston United Methodist Church
3919 Church Street
Clarkston, GA 30024 

Service Date: 24 Nov 09

Service Time: 11:00 AM 

Interment: Georgia National Cemetery, Canton: 2:00 PM

To the family of Michael Shipman, I thank you for your son's service to his country. Men like him have put their safety before others to make sure this country stays safe. He will never be forgotten as he has been given the "Stand Down" order and gone on to his reward. May the peace that passeth understanding be with you during these trying times. I regret that I won't be able to attend personally but will be there in spirit.
