******************************************************************************* Mikel Aaron Justus, Active duty US Army, was wounded in the service of his country and assigned to Walter Reed Medical Center for rehabilitation for injuries he received in November, 2008. On October 31, 2009, Mikel Aaron sustained an accident that caused the immediate loss of his life.
Quoting from his obituary: "While at Walter Reed Medical Center, Mikel touched many lives, giving many soldiers hope from day to day to go on. He befriended everyone he met, and he never met a stranger. He had a heart of love and would give or help people anyway he could. Mikel's nickname at Walter Reed Medical Center was "Miracle Mike," because they had witnessed actually seeing the miracles and changes in Mikel's physical body.
Mikel is to be laid to his final rest on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 24 November, 2009 at approximately 1000 hours. The family has invited the PGR to stand for their Hero, and we will be there -- standing tall, silent, and proud.
Mission Planning is underway, with the plan to be published here once completed.

Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

PFC Justus,
Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mikel Aaron Justus, U.S. Army / Active Duty. Your service and sacrifices will not be forgotten. Thank you for protecting the freedom of our country. You will always be remembered as a "TRUE AMERICAN HERO". Rest easy, Soldier.
To those I love and to those who loved me: When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears Be thankful for our beautiful years.
I gave to you my love you can only guess, How much you gave to me in happiness, I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a time that we must part So, bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home"

Thank you is just not enough; remember that only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you; Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One chose to die for your soul, the other for your freedom!
