Lance Cpl. Justin J. Swanson, 21, of Anaheim, Calif., died Nov. 10 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.  He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

 

The PGR has been invited to attend his arrival at Los Alamitos JFTC on Thursday 19 Nov 09 and his Military Honors at Westminster Memorial Park Saturday 21 Nov 09

This will be a two part mission.

Part 1 – Thursday Nov. 19

Justin will be arriving at Los Alamitos JFTC and we will form a flag line as he comes in and then escort him to Westminster Memorial Park. (9 miles)

Part 2 – Saturday Nov. 21

We will form a flag line for his Military Honors at Westminster Memorial Park

Please rest assured that Justin has now reported to his new duty station and, as the last verse of the Marine Corps Hymn says, is now "Guarding The Streets of Heaven".

It saddens me to read of the death of another fine young American hero who gave his all to defend this great country we live in. Words can't express the sorrow I feel for the family and friends of LCpl Justin Swanson. LCpl Swanson's passing is OUR loss as we will now miss out on what promised to be a productive life that would have benefitted us all.
