06 Nov 2009 8:12 AM Alert
updated 12 NOV 09 1225 hrs pdt towman

El Paso & Las Cruces riders:  Rally at Sunset Funeral home (4631 Hondo Pass) @ 1000 hrs (see attached map).  Family arrives at 1030 hrs and we're KSU NLT 1100 hrs.  Arrive at HAFB NLT 1230 hrs.  Security Forces Squadron (SFS) Escort to Base Chapel upon arrival.

Alamogordo and NM riders:  Rally at the Old Wal-mart at 1100 hrs.  KSU at 1115.  Arrive at HAFB Welcome center at 1130 hrs.  Security Forces Escort to Base Chapel NLT 1200 hrs to establish Flag line.

NOTE: YOU MUST RIDE IN WITH ONE OF THESE TWO GROUPS TO PARTCIPATE.  There are security issues we are concerned with and WILL adhere to, Re: Ft Hood massacre.   Please ensure that you have proper drivers license's, registration and insurance with you.  NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED ON BASE, DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO BRING THEM.

We will all depart as one group after the service, escorted by the SFS.  No one will be allowed to drive off separately or go any where else on base for any reason.  If you have normal access to the base, i.e. you are Active Duty or a Retiree, you will have to depart the base and then come back on after the mission if you want to do something else on base.  Again, with the events of last week considered, SFS & HAFB is being very generous in fully supporting this mission.  We MUST be considerate in return and support their requirements.  Please understand this and direct any questions to me directly @honoredmemories@hotmail.com

REQUIRED SAFETY GEAR NO EXCEPTIONS:  Helmet (any DOT approved), Long Sleeve Shirts or jackets, FULL Fingered Gloves, Long Pants, Over the ankle boots, Eye protection (sunglasses, helmet shields, etc.... a wind screen on your bike DOES NOT constitute eye protection).  HAFB has waived the normal requirement for reflective gear or brightly colored shirts.  Again, contact me with questions.

I sincerely appreciate the support of the PGR family for this mission.  Please know that SSgt Booher's family is also overwhelmed with our efforts and can't thank us enough. I've told them that thanks are not necessary, this is what we do.  If anyone isn't actually signed up with the PGR, please go to: http://www.patriotguard.org and sign up.  Remember, "Freedom isn't free, but membership is!"

As with any other operation, changes may arrise between now and tomorrow, but I'm confident with this plan. I look forward to meeting you all tomorrow.

PGR Ride captains, please send out to your lists ASAP and contact me with how many you think you're bringing tomorrow so I can give the SFS an idea of how many we're invading with.

PGR moderators, please post this info ASAP.  Thanx!!!

All, RIDE SAFE!
