Many thanks to PFC Thomas James Michalski. Thank you for your brave service. My sincere condolences to the family. I've been out of the saddle for the past 4 months due to involvement in an accident in July, and it would be an honor to make this my first mission back in the saddle. I will be able to meet the escort as it arrives in South Denver, and follow it to DIA. If anyone else from Northern Colorado, around Longmont or close to there, I would enjoy having/giving company. Any estimated time of arrival in south Denver would be appreciated to schedule my arrival to meet the escort as well.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pfc. Thomas James Michalski ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

To the family and friends of the ever so young Thomas James Michalski,

There are no words or platitudes that can temper your pain. I can’t think of anything in life that could be more painful, then the loss of a loved one, especially a son.

I would, however, like to take a moment to remind you that as deep as the hole in your heart feels at this time, it will be filled over time with the wonderful times spent together.

Thank you Thomas for your service to our nation, and it's people, you are a hero to all.
