Mission Reinstatement ~ Send-Off Mission ~ 13 Nov '09, Ft. Carson Troops deploying overseas, Colorado Springs, CO.

13 November, Friday, Ft. Carson Troops will be deploying overseas from, Colorado Springs, CO.
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend the SEND-OFF these troops heading overseas.

Staging AND Send-Off will take place at the South entrance of Air Cargo Road, off Milton Proby/Drennan Rd. (the main entrance road to the Colorado Springs Airport), about 1 mile East of Powers Blvd., in Colorado Springs.

13:00 (1:00 PM)    Staging
13:15 (1:15 PM)    PGR Flag-Line and PGR Parade Banner set in place, awaiting buses to transit.

Recent events have revised the Access and Control Policy at the A/DACG.  We're working with Ft. Carson Command Staff on options and alternatives to resume Send-Offs and Welcome Homes.  Until other arrangements are made, Send-Offs will be conducted at the Staging Area as the Buses drive past en route the A/DACG.  We're STILL letting the Soldiers know we're there for them, and SUPPORT THEM.

For impact and visibility, we will attempt to have Flags and the Large PGR Parade Banner for these "Drive-By" Send-Offs.

Please monitor Mission Thread for possible short-fused time adjustments.

Ride Captain: Robin "Flash" Thurston.

Thank You.

MISSION INFORMATION:

Stage:  1315 (1:15 pm)

Brief:  1330 (1:30 pm)

We will stage on the SOUTH side of Milton Proby/Drennan about 3/4 mile east of Powers Boulevard.  (This is the Air Cargo road on the south of the main road into the Colorado Springs airport).   You will see a set of barricades to your right as you turn onto the air cargo road.  We will stage BEHIND the barricades.

Remember that we will be entering an active military installation, so proper riding gear and paperwork is required if you're on 2 or 3 wheels.  (See this list if you need more info on ride requirements)

Would appreciate a good turnout for this mission, these soldiers deserve it.

We came back to the stage area at 4:15 PM. , us and Road Dog and waited till 4:45 PM. and figured it got changed but no chance to get back to the computer in time to find the "new times", RATS!  Hope the turnout was good and those soldiers got a smile from the sight.  Sorry we missed it but will try next time! May they all return safe and sane at the end of their tour.

With Respect!
