It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of one of the Marshall sector's most active and caring members, U.S. Army veteran Sonney Bohlman, age 71, of Granite Falls, Mn. If the name isn't familiar, his Gold Wing trike, flying the three flags, including the Red Bull flag , certainly would be. Or maybe the pennies with the cross punched in them will jar your memories, as Sonney made them and passed them out to everyone at missions. Sonney can be seen at picture 37 in this link of the 151st Family Support picnic, helping a young girl onto his trike, so a picture could be sent to her deployed daddy. His wife, Cheryl, is at the right edge of the picture. Yes, this is the couple that are affectionately known as "Sonney and Cher."
At the 151st Family Support Picnic on August 29th is the last I can recall seeing Sonney. A couple of weeks earlier he and Cheryl participated in the escort of The VietNam Traveling Wall to Hanley Falls.
PGR honors have been requested. As we put together this veteran/PGR member mission for later in the week, please keep his wife, Cheryl, and their son, PGR Metro SE member Doc Bohlman, in your thoughts and prayers.
Visitation Mission: Thursday, November 5. Wing/Bain Funeral Home, Granite Falls, Mn. SW corner of intersection of Hwy 212 and Hwy 23 (immediately behind Fagen Industries)

For those coming in early and looking for coffee/breakfast, I recommend DeToys Restaurant, on south side of Hwy 212.
?? - 8:30 am Breakfast fellowship at DeToys
Funeral Staging: 8:15 -8:45 am @ St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Ride Briefing 8:45 am
Flag line in place by 9:00 am for visitation 9:00 - 10:00 am
10:00 Funeral. Members may attend funeral if they wish
Interment immediately following funeral at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Details will be covered at ride briefing
RCIC Alan Peterson, assisted by Leadership members from Worthington, Marshall, and Willmar Sectors
All Patriot Guard members are invited to the meal and fellowship following interment at St. Paul Lutheran Church, at special request of the family. Please consider this as part of the mission. However, please email marshallrc@mnpatriotguard.org by Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, if you intend on attending the meal, so plans can be made by those serving the meal.
Sonney Bohlman devoted the last couple of years of his life to the Patriot Guard. Please devote a couple of hours of your life and attend one or both parts of this mission.
God bless the life and memory of Sonny Bohlman.

| Cheryl, and Doc, it has been a privilege and a pleasure to know Sonney. Many times he couldn't make it to a mission for health reasons, weather, etc, but he would always email and said he was there in spirit. Whenever I look at my vest, and see the penny with the cross punched in it, I will think of Sonney. |

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of
Sonney Bohlman, PGR Member, Army Veteran/PGR Member. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is
one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Sonney.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now,soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now,soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Sonney. God Bless you Sonney and may he open his arms and welcome you home. Thank you for your service to this country, and to the pgr, it was an honor to ride with you. Tonight when you look up, don't think of them as stars. Think of them as porch lights welcoming Sonney safely home. Although its sad to be without him be thankful he has made it home. Dave Jahn usn/pgr |
