Due to events of today, and heightened security levels on military installations, PGR will stand down for the final portion of this mission. After discussion with AL state leadership and the Ride Capts involved in the mission, it has been decided that our participation will place unneeded strain on security personnel.

Alabama has lost yet another great American Super hero.  Spc Adrian Avila, US Army, 19 Yoa gave his life in the fight for our freedom in a non combat related incident while serving in Kuawait.  The family of this mighty warrior has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in silent honor for their loved one.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

           The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
            Spc. Adrian L. Avila, 19, of Opelika, Ala., died Oct. 29 at Khabari Crossing, Kuwait, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related accident.   He was assigned to the 1343rd Chemical Company, 151st Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Battalion, 115th Fires Brigade of the Alabama Army National Guard, in Fort Payne, Ala.
            The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Each and every breath of fresh air that we take for granted is made possible because of the sacrifices of heroes like SPC Adrian Avila. Our most sincere condolences are sent from our Douglasville Georgia home to the family and friends of this American Hero. It is because of his willingness serve in harms way that allow us to live free. He served as a defender of our freedom, may he now rest in peace with God, his mission is complete.

We pray that the Lord above lay his healing hands on the family and friends of this Hero and comfort them during this emotional time. Give them the strength to carry on while remembering their fallen Hero evermore.
