Updated 04 Nov 09 1927 est S Sturgis

ITINERARY UPDATE: Sgt. Patrick O. Williamson, 24, Broussard, LA 06 Nov 09.   Services for Sgt. Williamson will be Friday morning, 11/06/09.   Visitation starts at 0800 at the funeral home (David Funeral Home, 316 Youngsville Hwy., Lafayette LA).  Mass of Christian Burial at 1030 hrs. at Sacred Heart Church of Broussard (200 W. Main, Broussard, LA).

From coltergeist 11/04/09 1430 hrs. - This message supercedes all other written and verbal communications exchanged earlier due to new information. We need to have some flags up at the funeral home when visitation begins.  Those that are local, please try to be at the funeral home for 0745 Friday morning.  For those coming from Baton Rouge who want to ride together, I'll be at the LA 415 McDonalds between 0630 and 0700 hrs.  I will pull out (KSU) at 0700 hrs.  If you can't make it that early, come whenever you can.

We will escort from funeral home to the church.  I believe the cemetery is adjacent to the church, so I don't think there will be a procession from the church - but we will have flags out.

Thanks again to those who were able to juggle their schedules today to welcome Sgt. Williamson home to his family. I know his family was very appreciative of our presence.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SGT. Patrick O. Williamson. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Patrick.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

I humbly offer my heartfelt regret and sympathy to the loved ones of U.S. Army Sergeant Patrick O. Williamson. As a member of the Army family I sorrow for Patrick, who had so much of life's day yet before him. Our country owes an eternal debt of honor to this young man for his courageous service. It is my prayer to Our Eternal Father that all who have suffered this terrible blow will be comforted and protected through all the days to come. May they ever feel the presence of guardian angels.

Thank you, SGT. Patrick O. Williamson for your service to this Nation. Individuals like you put your life on the line and sacrifice your lives for our freedoms. And it breaks my heart. I pray each day that the Lord our God will provide each and every one of our soldiers an Angel to watch over and protect them. It is the soldier that gives us freedom, not the politicians. Only two people ever died for our freedoms. One was Jesus Christ and the other was the American Soldier. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
