RC Shirley (Sam) Modes will be at the funeral home with flags to set up a flag line at the funeral home in preparation for the return from the airport.

Staging - Hermann Funeral Home - 249 N. Park St. Stockton,IL
Rally Time - 8:00am

Staging - Rockford Airport - see below
Rally time: 9:00am with flags in place by 9:15 for family arrival - after the family arrives there will be a briefing for the escort to the funeral home.

For those going to the airport we will be in the North American/Pride Aviation hanger at 6029 Cessna Drive, on the south side of the runways.  At the stop light at the airport entrance, with the UPS depot in front of you, go right instead of towards the terminal.  Follow Kishwaukee Road west and south to the intersection with Beltline Road which T's to the left only.  It is the first road intersection that you will run into.  Turn Left and follow Beltline road to Cessna Drive which T's to the left again.  There is a business sign placard there for all the commercial businesses in that drive.  Follow Cessna to the east and you will run into a sharp left turn, or a road block ahead.  Turn Left and go up the hill towards the hangers.  You are looking for the North American Aviation/Pride Aircraft hanger.  The PGR will park in the drive next to the Pride hanger facing south (towards the way you came in).

Friday, November 6
Visitation will be held at the Stockton High School Gymnasium (Rt 20 west edge of town) from 4pm to 8pm.  We have been given access to a room at the high school that we can use for staging and breaks.  This room has outside access next to the parking area on the south side of the high school which is the lot the PGR will be using.

Rally Time - 3:00pm (be careful as school will be just letting out)
Briefing - 3:15pm
Flag Up - 3:30pm

Saturday, November 7
Funeral will also be held at the Stockton High School Gymnasium at 11am.   The PGR will use the same south parking area and room as the visitation.

There will be a Military Honors Ceremony immediately after the funeral across the street from the High School in the city park at the basketball courts, one of Devin's favorite places in town.

After the ceremony we will escort the family (walking) back to the High School Cafeteria where the local ladies will be holding a reception in honor of the Michel family.  We have been asked to stay and share the meal and fellowship with the family.

Rally Time - 9:30am
Briefing - 9:45am
Flags Up - 10:00am

Thank you, PFC. Devin J. Michel for your service to this Nation. Individuals like you put your life on the line and sacrifice your lives for our freedoms. And it breaks my heart. I pray each day that the Lord our God will provide each and every one of our soldiers an Angel to watch over and protect them. It is the soldier that gives us freedom, not the politicians. Only two people ever died for our freedoms. One was Jesus Christ and the other was the American Soldier. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America “for an amount of up to and including my life.”
That is Honor.
To the family of this American Hero: We as a nation grieve with you in your loss. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

You don't have to love war, but you do have to love the Warrior!

The sound of 200 people holding flags -- is deafening.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of PFC. Devin J. Michel. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Devin.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
