SPC Eric N. Lembke, 25, of Plant City, FL was killed by an IED Friday, 23 October 2009 while on a "routine" mission in Afghanistan. According to a family friend, SPC Lembke's job was to find hidden bombs and detonate them.
This Hero was raised by his foster mother in Plant City who later adopted him. He leaves a wife and two children behind. You can read more about him here:
SPC Lembke's wife, Mashelle, has extended the invitation to the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in silent respect for her husband and Hero. The Visitation and Funeral Service will be held in Plant City, Florida on the sixth and seventh of November. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on the seventh.
Final Itinerary -
Visitation:
Friday, November 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at
First Baptist Church 503 North Palmer Street Plant City, FL
Staging will be at the Church
5:00pm - Staging Begins
5:40pm - Mission Brief
5:50pm - Set Flag Line
6:00pm - Visitation Begins
Funeral Service:
Saturday, November 7th 10:00am
First Baptist Church 503 North Palmer Street Plant City, FL
Staging will be at the Church
7:30am - Staging Begins
8:40am - Mission Brief
9:00am - Set Flag Line
10:00am - Service Begins
Law Enforcement will escort the procession from Plant City to Florida National Cemetery for the Graveside Service and presentation of Military Honors following the Funeral Service.
It should not go without notice that this is the third soldier from Plant City that has made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global War on Terror. Let's show SPC Lembke's family and his community that their loss has been recognized by a nation that cares about and appreciates it's defenders.

My family and I wish to send our condolences to the family and friends of SPC Eric N. Lembke. You are a HERO to our country for standing for our freedom, and paying the ultimate price that we may have the liberties that we enjoy everyday. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. You will NEVER be forgotten.
Our prayers and well wishes go out to your family as they try to get through this grievous time.
John D. Schumm US Navy 1987 - 2008 ____________________________________________________________
For this country, this Warrior has stood the watch.
While some of us were in our beds at night, this Warrior stood the watch.
While some of us were in school learning our trade, this Warrior stood the watch.
Yes, even before some of us were born into this world ... this Warrior stood the watch.
In those years when the storm clouds of war were seen brewing on the horizon of history this Warrior stood the watch.
Many times he would cast an eye home and see his family standing there ... needing his guidance and help ... needing that hand to hold during those hard times ... but he still stood the watch.
He stood the watch for years, He stood the watch so that we, our families, and our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly in safety each and every night knowing that a Warrior stood the watch.
Today we are here to say “Friend, the watch stands relieved. Relieved by those you have led, guided, and trained. You stand relieved. We have the watch.”
GOD BLESS!

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SPC Eric N. Lembke. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know
your loved one was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with
you always. He will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Eric.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
