Gold Star Mothers Ceremony

 

It is our honor, once again, to have the PGR  invited to the Gold Star Mothers Ceremony on Sunday, Sept 27, 2009.  This is the forth year that we have been asked to participate.


The ceremony will mark Gold Star Mother’s Day, which has been commemorated on the last Sunday in September since President Franklin Roosevelt declared the first Gold Star Mother’s Day in 1936.

The actual ceremony begins at 1:30 PM.


Gov. Pat Quinn will present Gold Star Banners to Illinois mothers whose sons and daughters died over the past year while serving their country in the Global War on Terror.
 
Please join us in honoring our Gold Star families, it is an event you will always remember.
 

Motorcycles are to be parked to the south of the Student Center on the service drive.  We will have parking passes for any cars that need to be parked.  Parking will be available in the parking structure across the street from the Student Center on Halsted; enter on Taylor St..

Some might wish to ride in together, If so, be at The Parking Lot of 671 W. North Ave. Elmhurst, IL 60126 (Northwest corner of Route 83 and North Ave.) at 10:30AM for departure to below location at 11:00AM..
