I humbly wish to express my regret and sympathy to all the beloved family and friends of U.S. Army 2LT Derwin I. Williams. There are no words of thanks that are adequate to express what is due LT Williams for his years of service as a guardian to our nation; but we must never forget this man who put all of his tomorrows on the line in the performance of his duties. May Our Father in Heaven ever abide in the hearts of those who have been most deeply touched by this terrible loss; and may they find consolation and peace. Let all know that a great many people deeply regret the loss of this hero; and will ever remember the price of freedom and security.

Psalm 139: 9-10 "If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there thy hand shall lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. May your hearts be comforted and his soul be at peace.

It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this nation under God shall have a new birth freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth." 'No Greater Love is this that a man is willing to lay down his life for another.' Only two men were willing to sacrifice their lives for us-Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. Neither of which can ever fully be repaid.

Thank you for your Service and my Freedoms. Your sacrifices will never go unnoticed. I am grateful to live in a country made up of volunteers like you. Your choice to protect our Nation and put your self on the line can never be repaid.
