I’m a PGR member, live in suburban Chicago and plan on manning a flag and attending Sgt David’s services in Gladwin as a surrogate representative of the 2-5 CAV, 1BCT 1CAV DIV troops.

My son served with Sgt David in the 2-5 CAV, 1BCT 1st CAV Div, but is not with the unit this time.

This morning I chatted online with one of the 2-5 CAV soldiers who knew Sgt David. We discussed his loss and how the troops are ‘pretty down’ because Sgt David was one of the good guys, but he said that they had to ‘push on’.

For you Michiganders, look for me with the Land of Lincoln plates. I'll be there.

My deepest sorrow for the family of Timothy David. It has been a long time since I have posted a message to a sorrowfull family. I guess it takes a death close to home to wake a person up. I have a close friend's son who is about to be deployed for the 2nd time. I am sorry to say that it took your son's life to wake me up again, about the price of this war.
I will be proud to fly my flag at his service.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SGT.Timothy A. David. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your loved one was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Timothy.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
